Poor baby had a bad shed.
So i experienced my first bad shed with my lil mojave boy today. I dont understand why though :( his humidity was between 65 and 70 the whole process :(
Is there anyway some snakes are just prone to bad sheds?
I know he had a bad one when i first got him too :(

My male pinstripe will have bad sheds from time to time. Maybe he is just lazy because the humidity is always over 70% during his shed cycles.

Maybe he just can't manage to get the skin to roll off right. Who knows. I had to assist shed him twice this summer.

Other than the couple weird sheds he is perfectly healthy. So maybe some snakes are more prone to bad sheds.

I think im gonna give him the rest of today to try and get it off, and if he doesnt i will soak him tommorrow. Sound like a good idea?

That is usually what I do. I give them a day or two (misting a few times a day) to see if they will get any more off by themselves, then I lend a helping hand.

I only get a bad shed if I catch them about to finish there shed cycle. Meaning there's only two days left or so. Which rarely happens, so I don't know. Sometimes the humidity doesn't go under 70 percent in my cages. But humidity in Florida can be harsh. I would think you need to get it more moist. Maybe it's a dry humidity in the cage. I would think its harder to shed if there's no moist.

Sometimes I will also put the snake in a tub with moist paper towels and let him work it all off that way.

So i soaked him for about 15 min abd i got the shed off of his tail and his heat pits.
He still has some random single scales that are stuck on him, but just like 3 or 4 and it doesnt wrap around him.
    This wont bother him right?

Yeah a couple scales here and there are no big deal. He should get them off with the next shed
