    What substrate?
So I have my little BP, and right now he is on cypress, he does very well but what I would like to know is whether people recommend having them on paper towels or cypress more, I am willing to switch to whichever is better personally, I am not picky. I just want to make sure that he is comfortable. I like the cypress because it really does keep the humidity in his place and he is able to burrow in it too, but what do people here prefer? Thanks in advance!

Search past post and you will see this pop up over and over. The truth is they all can work but not all work well in every situation. If you need help with humidity I would say stick with mulch. I use it and love it.

He is in a tub already, humidity isn't a massive issue. The thing that bugs me a little is the fact that he keeps getting moderately sized pieces of mulch stuck in his mouth. I'm sure any smaller pieces will pass but I don't want any pieces stuck in his mouth for too long and I don't want to stress him out by having to remove them :-/. I do not leave him unattended during feedings, I watch him (assuming he will let me) and I make sure that nothing serious goes on, but it worries me just a little bit... And because I feed f/t during his feedings sometimes they will get mulch stuck on them because the mice are slightly damp.

If my f/t are damp I will take a paper towel and dry them before feeding. Doing this I never have a problem with the substrate sticking to them.

Leave him on the cyprus. Cyprus is one of the best substrates you can use IMO.

If your worried about the F/T get yourself a blow drier. I blow dry all my f/t rats before I put them in to be eaten. And I have my guys on Aspen (Which is Only because I breed rats too, and It's easier to have one substrate, considering I go through about 20 cubic feet a month lol).

    Cheers,
    Chris.

The notion of blow drying FT rodents, to me is far more annoying than the stuck mulch pieces. If you really want the best solution, especially if he is in a tub (where aesthetics dont matter), use newspaper, black and white pages only. Cheapest, easiest to clean, no sticky mulch.

Cypress is good, especially if you are needing to help elevate the humidity. Also, if you like paper, I recommend that you go to your local newspaper office and ask for the unused remnant rolls. Most newspaper will either give away for free or charge a dollar or two for it. It is basically newspaper without any print or ink on it.
