Air temperature is very important. If it drops below 75 degrees then you will need to use a heat lamp to increase the air temps.

    I like these: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...uctId=11147193

    How big is the tank?

What's your temperature currently at? What are you trying to get it to?

If you put something on top of the cage, it will help hold heat inside. Heat rises.

There's a thread here about tin-foiling the top of the cage.

the tank is a 30gal i believe and its for reptiles has a mess top that i put some plastic board over to help with temp and humidity.
I just temped the tank today and its 90-95 on the hot side depending the spot, air/object temp is about 77. the cool side is about 75. i did run a lamp but stopped because it dropped the humidity down to 30%.

i do have another uth would it help if i placed it on the side of the tank? would post pics but dont have permission :(

    Nice snake and setup
Don't over think it too much. Your temps sound great. The snake is going to be on the floor most of the time and will get its heat from there. If its perched up off the ground and gets cold it'll seek heat. You can get over worried and try to over compensate and cook your snake. If you ask me so far you're doing good. Aquariums are far from ideal, but as far as they go I'd say you've got it set up pretty good. If you have some feeding problems. Try covering the sides of the aquarium with construction paper and then slowly lower it little by little every other week it'll help your snake adapt slowly to an open habitat. As far as temps go your good.
