I think you need to be a little more specific in your question. Are you asking how to pre-kill rats?

Cervical dislocation or CO2 euthanasia, depend how many prey you want to pre-kill and their size.

The best way is a CO2 gas chamber. there are a few ways to make one (using a CO2 gas cylinder or using dry ice) Here are some DIY's

    Dry Ice: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...and-Humane-too

    CO2 Cylinder: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...Y-CO2-chamber)

The most important thing is to start off with a little gas to put them to sleep first, then flood the chamber to kill them. if they are awake when you flood the chamber with gas it won't be painless.

I would go with cervical dislocation for two rats.

I ended up just feeding it to them and watching very closely, imma get some dry ice and use a bucket to do it and see about doing like 10 and freezing them

I went online and got plans for a small and simple CO2 chamber. Works quite well.
