    Rats having babies right now
I just looked at my rats and one of the mommas has had two. My daughter freaked me out screaming " she's eating them " I looked and figure its like dogs and cats they have to clean them up and eat the placenta at lest I hope so. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/10/07/aqapu5yr.jpg

Well they will sometimes eat them for various reasons... im not saying thats what is happening.. just a thought though I would give her more bedding to build a nest its hard to tell from the pic but she seems pretty exposed.

Congrats! Yes. Mamas will eat the placenta by the handful after each pup's birth. And they will eat a baby if it is a stillborn or dies after birth.

They sure are good mommas. I don't.know how they can take care of so many. I think the.first two are done birthing each with 11-12 babies no still borns. Ive been feeding them good with rat chow carrots, ham and cheese and cabbage stumps, and some grapes. Momma number three is acting like she's going into labor. I'll have plenty of feeders but I'll feel kinda bad after raising them from babies, I'm not gonna play with them so I won't get attached.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/10/07/hagynygy.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/10/07/8ena3enu.jpg
