Re: Citrus Pastel Genetics?
Pastel x Citrus Pastel = Citrus Super Pastel
Citrus x Fire = Citrus Firefly
Citrus x Pinstripe = Citrus Lemonblast
Citrus is just a line of Pastel. They are hot right now so when people make Citrus combos they like to label them as such and with good reason.

If you are mixing in other lines of pastels you should not call it citrus. Same with other lines of pastel, if you cross lemon with some random pastel you find, you should not call it a lemon anymore. These lines of pastel were bred for selective traits and by not keeping them within the same line of high quality pastels you are undoing the intentions of the breeder.
A Citrus x Citrus would be a Super Citrus Pastel, where as Citrus x Pastel would be Citrus Super Pastel. Meaning it's a Super Pastel but only half Citrus. I know Jon @ Breeder's Circle classifies it like this. He's got a Citrus Super Pastel Calico, which is 1 part Citrus 1 part regular Pastel. I believe Amir classifies his crosses like this as well and they are his line of Pastels. I see nothing wrong with doing that as long as the buyer is aware of how it works and knows that he can NOT call any offspring Citrus because you can not tell them apart with certainty. I would personally not even cross the two different lines unless I was going to just label it Super Pastel, so I see your point.
