*FYI* Facebook publicly displaying old private messages on your Timeline!

Don't believe me? Check for yourself!! All my private messages from 2011 and earlier were displayed publicly on my timeline.

Facebook is denying that this has happened and is saying that these are just old wall posts that we forgot about. This is completely false!

Please, for those of you who use facebook, go to your timeline and hide your private information!

Glitch maybe, my timeline does not show any personal messages and the only person claiming this has happened is rageagainsttheminivan...hmmm

Perhaps, but about 10 of my friends had them displayed publicly. Did you look at years previous to 2011?

I am going to some of my friends accounts and sure enough, private messages that I have sent them are displayed publicly! I am 110% certain that these are PMs and not wall posts.

Are they showing for you when you are viewing your page, or when.someone else is?

Not one single private message in 2011, 2010 or 2009 shows on my timeline...not sure what to say but it isn't happening to me :confusd:

Edit: It shows up as a lump story "so and so and 40 others posted on your timeline!" with a text box full of PM messages. Mine were showing from 2011, 2010, and 2009

Jerry, I think I can see yours as well. But you would have to verify it's your PMs.

I don't think it affects everyone, but you all should thoroughly check just to be safe.

Just scrolling through some of my friends old "wall posts" I am finding messages that are clearly meant to be private... Messages between myself and these people as well as messages between them and other friends..

I am glad to hear some of you are unaffected.

yeah Jerry, from what I can tell you do have some PMs posted. I might be wrong, but they look like personal messages from your daughter?
