NEW Pastel BP with stuck shed
I just got a new BP and he has some nasty shed. I have read the the other forums to help with Shedding issues, but this guy is completely New. I tried to soak him in a tote of warm water, but he refuses to come out of his nice and safe ball. I have misted him twice a day since I got him on last Saturday.
I just wanna know if anyone else out there knows any less stressful ways of dealing with a crappy shed? http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/show...hp?i=43809&c=3
Re: NEW Pastel BP with stuck shed
Thanks for the info & Welcome, I have been fumbling my way through the site but I will get the hang of it soon. ;) I will see if I can coax him out of his ball long enough to try it. I have been told my many people that BP's have the worst sheds, but my normal sheds in one straight full shed, so this is the first for me!
just one more thing.. I know BP's get generally hungry after their sheds, so when I tried to soak him the other day I offered a small rat and he didn't care for it. How long should I wait before I offer another one?

I would try making a hand towel damp with warm water (not hot) then let your BP slither through the towel while you apply some pressure. repeat a few times. I have found this to be less stressful for mine.
+1 :gj:

Thanks! Worked like a charm! Still a bit on the crown of his head, but with as much rubbing as he does that will come off.
