Power Outages + Problem Shedder

I work at a pet store, and one of the ball pythons is a problem shedder, which isn't a big issue for me. It is most likely going up for adoption since it's had this issue since it arrived. Since I am first in line to adopt, and I live in an area that is prone to power outages during the winter, what would be my best option for heating this snake in case of the power goes out?

I do have a gas stove, so heating water in case it sheds in the winter isn't a big deal.

I'm looking for some kind of generator that will be able to power at least a heating pad as well as two (2) tanks lights, for around 1-4 or 5 days.

For my snake room I simply use this http://www.walmart.com/ip/14710768?a...l5=pla&veh=sem hooked to a 20lbs cylinder. It allows me to keep my snake room at proper ambient temp.

For the rest of the house I use this http://www.samsclub.com/sams/gentron...navAction=push and if my incubator is plugged I run a cord upstairs to the snake room so the incubator does not stay without power.

I have used hot water bottles in the tub or hand warmers under the tubs when I loose power :)

Thank you for the ideas. I would use something like that portable heater. But this would be my first snake (since my parents aren't too keen on reptiles, I haven't been able to own one, even though I work with them), and I wouldn't need to worry about keeping a room at a constant temperature. I was also wanting something that i didn't have to monitor all the time. I work mornings and have school as well. And I don't want my parents to take care of an animal they don't like.
