    This helped with my humidity
I live in Phoenix, AZ so humidity as always been an issue for me, I usually mist the terrarium 2-3 times per day. I was using aspen bedding, then I switched to Reptile Bark Fir Bedding, it held the humidity better but still had to mist 1-2 times a day. I recently came across Zoo Med Forest Floor Bedding. I put the new substrate in this morning, did an initial mist. and the humidity is holding at 58% about twelve hours later.

Just wanted to share in hopes this helps someone else or if anyone has had a feedback about using this substrate.

I have also been using a moist towel on top of my screen top aquarium and it has been helping quite a bit. I moisten it in the morning and and night and the humidity has been staying around 55, just wanted to let you know what has been helping me. Thanks for the substrate tip!

I've got a 20 gal long with 2 small BPs in it. It has about 2 inches of "All Living Things"(petsmart brand) fir bark. It holds humidity the same as Reptibark(not well). I'm going to get a bag of that Forest Floor. My Petsmart was sold out of it today though:(. I plan to mix the whole bag with the bark I already have and use it in my 20 gal long and my 10 gal. I hope this will help me keep closer to 60% humidity and not 40% which is the norm without misting. And my snakes will be separated.

Working on turning my 10 gallon aquarium into a terrarium. Looking for the right bedding and a few other things to buy. I've housed snaked together in the past and never had any problems, but after my research here I'm gonna be releasing my goldfish into a pond and starting something new.

Yeah I'm in Colorado like 6 inches away from the sun so I know all about humidity issues. I have been using Forrest floor since day one and it hasn't let me down yet. I also use the damp warm towel over the top. That really helps for about 12-48 hrs depending on how hot it is in the house.

Please don't release your pets into the wild.

The substrate forest floor is cyprus mulch. This is one of the best at holding moisture, coco coir also holds an exceptional amount of water.
