Snake that has been lost for over a year!

Over a year ago my little 4 year old brother in law let one of our 2011 hatchling corn snakes out of its tub when we lived in the same duplex. Never saw the first sign of it after it. We just assumed it got into the walls and died or something along those lines. I honestly had forgotten all about it. Well yesterday we get a text from my other brother in law saying he caught a corn snake in the field by their house. I told him I would stop by and ID the snake for him since corns aren't indigenous to Ohio and it was probably an eastern milksnake. Imagine my surprise when I get there and it turns out he caught our lost corn in the yard while it was eating a massive mouse. I'm surprised it was eating at all because the temp outside was only 53 degrees F. Not only that, but outwardly it appears healthy, is well fed and is even bigger than the corns we held back from last year! I know for a fact this is our corn because the house it over a mile from the nearest house and no neighbors keep any reptiles. Plus looking at old photos you can easily tell it is one of ours. He/she is in our QT rack now at our new house and getting some much needed heat to digest that meal.

Thanks! Come to think of it, I did notice we didn't have a mouse problem like we did the year before. Guess this explains a lot. :D

I really don't remember if it was male or female. Hoping female. I know for a fact he/she is 100% het amel, het anery, either way (het amel x snow pairing).

Wanna know the jacked up part? My idiot brother in law that caught it wanted to charge us for catching it. The original text was asking how much it was worth. Luckily when I got to their house the only one home was my mother in law, so she just gave it to us. :rolleyes:

I had a girlfriend who lost her corn for over two years, and it showed up one night in her shower. When her new boyfriend, who never knew she had a snake, was about to use it. He started screaming. Poor guy was pretty taken aback by her joy at finding a snake in her shower.
