    Funny little story . . .
My girlfriend is just getting used to the idea of me having snakes. I've had past experience with them, but none while I was with her. FYI: She knows nothing of herpetology. Here's 2 conversations that I just found to be just hilarious. Tell me what you think . . . .

#1 (Sitting on my bed looking at my terrarium)

Girlfriend(inquisitive face) - "So how long do those things live?"
Me(smile) - "25 to 35 years if I'm lucky, and take good care of them"
Girlfriend(surprised face/jaw dropped) - "So I guess I better get used to them pretty quick?"
Me(bigger smile) - "Yeeeeep, cuz they're not goin anywhere anytime soon"
LOL guess you had to be there.

    #2 (Walking around Petsmart together)

Me - "Oh crap I almost forgot, I gotta get some mice" (frozen mice, snake food, duh right?)
Girlfriend - "Really?! Mice?! You're getting moooore animals?! You don't have room for another cage or tank in your room!"
Me - "No hunny, I need to feed my snakes"
Girlfriend - "Huh? What do you want mice for then?"
Me - "To feed to the snakes"
Girlfriend - "You're kidding right? I thought the snakes ate crickets"
    Me - :rofl::rofl::rofl:

That's great, unfortunately she probably knows more than the guys working at Petsmart...

That last one is SOOO typical. Sadly, it is. I've had to correct the employees in 2 Petsmarts and 1 Petco on that very fact when I saw crickets climbing all over the poor snakes. :disbelief

And it actually took some EFFORT to convince them! Sad, sad times...

But yeah, I've heard some good stuff from people that I had to exercise the utmost control not to collapse laughing. :D

All these posts about Petsmart are kind of unsettling. It is so rare to get a question about animal care that me and my pet care staff can't answer. I guess it's because we all have different kinds of animals. Maybe that isn't the truth about some other stores. Go figure

Lol, I can't remember who it was but someone that was over at my house recently thought that my snake ate crickets too. Like wth? I don't get it.:P

    Wait! Snakes don't eat crickets?:O

My fiance loved hearing snakes live so long.

I would have to agree that most big box pet store employees know nothing about the animals they have in the store. While talking about snake food I used the term hopper and lost both employees I was speaking with and started calling over a third one that I had to explain it to again. And both Petco and Petsmart had crickets in with the snakes last week. If yall are different I applaud you and your team, but know yall are an exception.

I'm definitely gonna pass on those props to my staff. Thank you. It's a shame to hear about the unreliability of some others. If I ever saw crickets inside the Ball Python or Corn Snake terrariums, the only thing that would cross my mind is, "hey, how did they get in there all the way from the bearded dragons? Those are 3 cage walls away." LOL

My coworker asked where the snake's ears were located. Of course this is the same girl that agreed with a guy that women's suffrage should be stopped. She said women have been suffering for far too long. I love some of the crazy comments that my coworkers make.
