    incubate infertile eggs?
got a clutch of 8, two are separated from the main clutch and one of those two appears infertile...do you guys incubate if you see very little or no veins at all?

You can incubate boob eggs. But don't incubate slugs. They will start molding and you could ruin a clutch that way.

If it's a slug (as opposed to an egg that looks normal but doesn't have veins) I throw it away. Otherwise I'll incubate everything else, you can always throw it away later if it starts to rot.

I incubate everything other than slugs, and toss them only if they sink and start to discolor and smell funny. Since almost everyone does this, I honestly think candling is just for our own amusement. Of course, it can enable you to set the questionable eggs off to the side, away from the rest of the clutch.

I incubate until I know without a doubt that the egg is dead.

i've candled eggs with no veins when first laid. candled about a week later and saw some veins. they went full term and hatched. never hurts to try. when an egg goes bad you will know it.
