Having trouble calming down half dwarf burm.
It's only been a month but I have yet to see any progress. He has eaten 3 times, pooped a couple times and just recently shed. He hates when I go near his tub which is well away from any foot traffic. Strikes at any movement and lunges at me when I try to pull him out of his enclosure. I use a small hook to get him out but he doesn't calm down at all after being out. If anything he gets more feisty and usually pees everywhere. Maybe this is normal and I have just gotten used to balls and need to give him more time. Even the burms I have worked with in the past were never this opposed to being handled. He acts more like a young carpet. I even named him Dexter because he LOVES to watch me bleed.
Husbandry is correct. Just like a burm which is what the breeder told me.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Re: Having trouble calming down half dwarf burm.
I haven't kept up with Burms in a while and have no experience with half dwarfs...However years ago I did care for a group of some of the first WC Dwarf Burms imported and they were all NASTY!!!
Just like you described biting and pissing non-stop! Doubt it will ever stop...
