    Expanding Reptile Room. Electrical Question.
Hi everyone! My reptile collection is slowly expanding. I have one ball python currently, but will be purchasing a blue tongue skink and a leopard gecko as well. I was curious to know how you expand your collection with only the few electrical outlets in a room. Since I am only housing three reptiles can I just purchase a good power strip outlet, and make sure I don’t go over the wattage capability.

I use Herpstat 4's, so I can get 4 cages per outlet. If your collection really starts to grow I'd pickup an electric usage meter to keep tabs on your power draw and use high quality power strips.

I don't plan on purchasing anymore reptiles after the two new additions. Would you think it would be safe to use a high quality power strip from (target, home depot) and make sure I don't exceed over the wattage capability.

As long as you don't exceed the wattage of all components in the electrical system then you won't have any issues.

With only 3 cages I seriously doubt that you will have any issues.

Shouldn't be a problem, my computer pulls nearly 1500 watts when I'm rendering 3d CAD models I haven't had any issues will my outlets so far.
