Piebald Heads

Just curious why it is that you never see a Piebald with a white head.

What causes them to always retain the pattern on their noggin?

I don't know why but it is a trait of the morph.

Ya even with the Spied you get the spider head then all white

White Weddings are an all white Spied. They have an all white head.
Some Lesser Pieds are also all white.

Is there an image in particular that you're referring to? The majority of the images are of normal or morph pieds. The others, for all I know, could be BELs. I'm assuming one of those is the coconut pied you're talking about? There's no coconut pied list on WOBP. I'm not looking for an all-white snake or anything. I'm just curious why they keep the pattern on their head. Although a picture of a white-headed pied with pattern in other spots would be cool.

Alright, I'll give you the Panda. However, how many years old is that snake? Do we have any update pictures? Have there been any others produced? We do know for a fact that super black pastels are a touchy combo. My point is, the Panda is definitely the exception, and a possibly dangerous one at that.

And we still definitely don't have an explanation as to why 99% of their heads are patterned.

There is only 1 Panda Pied in existence. No others have been produced. And if there have been, they have failed to survive.
When the Panda was produced, it was said to be a Super Black Pastel Pied. These days, it's been questioned.
My friend who has the brother Black Pastel het. Pied to the Panda has spoken to the Panda breeder and both have speculated that the Panda may not even be a pied. It may be an Extreme Ringer Super Black Pastel. The brother Black Pastel is a ringer as well.

The only explanation to the head patterns is just that it's the pied gene. Simple.
But like I mentioned before, White Weddings are an all white pied. And some Lesser Pieds are all white.

Yeah, the head is always patterned, unless there is a combo gene pushing it towards all-white. And even then, the head is generally the last bit of color to go.

And the eyes are always solid black. Even the lesser pieds have black eyes. Only current exceptions are the albino pieds, I think.
