    Desert combos also infertile ?
Hey there guys, just a quick question
I've been reading a lot on desert females being
Infertile, anybody tried with desert combos
I have a nice little lesser desert and was just wondering
If she would ever join in on my breeding programs
Or if she is just going to to be a pet..
    Thanks for the replys

If the words Desert and Female are in the description of a single snake then the next word should be Pet. It doesn't matter how many genes a female has, if desert is one of them she will have problems if you try to breed her. And worse of all you may lose your snake in the process.

The whole desert think makes me crazy! They have to be one of the best morphs out there for making the best looking combos but its a dead project in my opinion, they should be selling for a lot cheaper then they are right now because everyone has tried to do anything and everything to get them to lay fertile eggs and a lot of the females end up dead, its kinda messed up to keep trying at this point...

    I half agree with you.
I think females should be sold for an affordable price as pets.
However, males are breeding gold. Male desert combos still have a lot of potential to create beautiful snakes.

Except in the instance of desert ghost female of course ;) (not related to the desert line, recessive morph)

I agree males make really insane combos but what good is that if those nice combos end up female? Its nice to look at but it sucks to not be able to make even more combos with that female ya know...Deserts make the brightest cleanest combos around but to me its a dead project for any breeder. Im not in this hobby for the money by any means but i wont invest in a project that is proven pretty much dead which is a huge blow! I also think a lot of people are gonna keep trying to breed the females and many more females will most likely die which isn't fair....

The super desert could be the most breath taking ball python ever, but chances are we will not find out anytime soon. I believe it's going to take a basement breeder to discover the trick to getting desert to lay viable eggs. The big breeders seemed to stop trying with desert females. The person who is willing to devote the time to the desert females will be the one to figure out the problem.
** by basement breeder i mean someone who's doing this as a hobby and not trying to make a living at breeding balls. I consider myself a basement breeder(when I start breeding) because this will not be my full time job it is a hobby.
