It has to do with follicle development on the female, not the locks. It usually starts with the beggining of cold days at autum, whith temperature dropping at night a few C, and you ll see ovulation by the end of the winter or spring. Then another month to laying eggs. The females ovulate when the follicles reach 30mm and is when they meet the sperm. Hope it helps.

There is no timeline you can start pairing in November and have eggs in February just like you can start in November and have eggs in august, or you may not have eggs at all. On other words it can vary.

The only timeline is once the female ovulates then you can count about 45 days before eggs (average).

Before ovulation you will need to pay attention to your female behavior and pay attention to various signs, building, glow etc.
