    Tail birth defect?
I was wondering if anyone has ever seen this. This poor little guys tail seems to have been folded over prior to him hatching. I was curious to know whos seen this and if it turns out to be female would it ever be able to breed. i would tend to doubt it but hopefully someone on here knows a little more than i. thanks for lookin.

Wow, that's very strange. I personally wouldn't breed him/her from the sheer fact that you don't know if the defect is genetically heritable, even if it occurred due to an incubator spike.

I didnt think about it being genetic. I was thinking more about the possibility of the animal dying due to it sexual organs being bunched up like that.

I understand, but it's not something I would risk, even if it is physically capable. I'd guess you would probably need x-rays to have any guess of what is affected.

not to sound mean or uncaring but i will most likely not have an x ray done for a normal hatchling. i will most likely sell it as a non breedable pet. i have a buddy that wants it just becouse its unique.

and in reference to your other post Annarose15 we did have one temp spike during incubation due to malfunctioning thermestat that controlled the temp for our whole reptile room. the room got up to 100 and the incubator rose to about 98 before i caught it when i returned from work.

Not mean at all, I wouldn't spend the money either in this situation. That's great that you have a friend that might be able to take care of it. I guessed that it was probably a temp spike, but I always wonder if those heat-induced changes are as non-heritable as people tend to assume.

I guess i dont think its genetic seeing as this has never happened with thier mom before and all of the other babies didnt have it. 6 total. but i guess u never know.
