    help!
I just bought an albino male from a breeder call off the arc exotic reptiles. when he arrived,
he arrived without any heat and had escaped from the bag the was supposed to be in. he
has a large sore on the inside of his mouth with is oozing and is causing him to salivate
excessively, hi is also showing sighs of a RI, with a bubbling nose, wheezing and open mouth
breathing. when I told the store, because they have a 10 day health gaurentee, they said
just to keep him warm and wait. not to take him to the vet because they might prescribe harm
full antibiotics, but he seems to be getting worse. WHAT DO I DO??

I would return the animal for a full refund or make a vet visit ASAP. If they honor the 10 day guarintee i would take it back now, not later.

Agree 100% return him now for a full refund this is a severely sick animal that they knowingly sold. I'd also post negative feedback on the BOI.

Normally, I would say be patient and work with the seller. However, their blatant disregard for the animal's health by discouraging you from going to a vet and allowing him to leave their hands with open, infected sores...RETURN IT AND DEMAND A FULL REFUND, including having them send you a prepaid label for return shipping.

Do not wait! A little extra heat will not cure a serious RI. It sounds like the snake is in an intermediate/advanced stage. Return the animal asap or take it to the vet and get a culture done. But it's not really cheap to treat an RI. And antibiotics will not make your snake any worse. Just the same or better.

The guys who shipped the snake sounds very unprofessional and not very knowledgeable .

Take pictures to document the injury as well. And maybe a video showing the wheezing and bubbles.

    Good luck.

Return it and post on the BOI, especially if they hassle you more and more about not taking it to the vet or "waiting" to see if it gets better.

Thats just crazy that anyone would tell you not to take the animal to the vet. Maybe they hope it will like 9 more days??? It would have a better chance if you took it to the vet for that to happen. Sad, I hope everything works out for you, and the snake. And yea post on BOI.

It sounds like they want you to wait past the 10 days then it's your problem.

I would return it immediately. If they honor the return policy then props to them for being stand up about it. Any hesitation in taking the return back then appropriate feedback is necessary.

They are hoping you are inexperienced enough, which you seem to be, that you won't argue with them..

You should not have accepted this reply. You should have said no, I want a full refund, or healthy replacement. This animal is very sick and it's very obvious.

Keep ALL communication proof. Emails, payments, etc.. Get back in touch with them and get this settled immediately or you may have a dead snake soon.

You should have taken photos of the unboxing, the loose snake, the mouth sore, etc... They sound shady. They may try to cheat you.

I did take pic as soon as I got the box, of the box, when I opened it, and of his condition and I took more today,
I contacted them and said I wanted a full refund and that I was very upset with them for saying not to take it to the vet.
Thank you very much for the help, I just cant believe they would try to do this, it is such a gorgeous animal too!
I have printed all the emails and pictures just in case.
