    breeding question........ strange.........
Ok........ I have been housing 2 balls together. In the last week of August I was taking them out to clean their cage and they were actually breeding. Yes I know, breeding in August, not likely right. Buy I assure you they were. Is this a normal happening for balls to breed out of season in captivity?

Yes. Captive balls can breed any time of the year.
May I ask why you are housing two together?

Please watch the female closely. You may have to prepare for eggs.

I have had them together only a short time. I work out of town for long periods. My sister gave me the mail after my nephew decided he did not want it. They were housed separate but the tank the male was in was cracked by accident and not having time to obtain a new cage before leaving town for work I had only the option of putting them together. They are now separated but only since last Sunday so I'm sure they bred several more times before i moved the male. Any tips on making an incubator?

Check out the DIY section on the forum. There is an easy home made incubator you can build from a cooler.

Also just because they locked does not mean she will produce eggs. I'd keep an eye on her though and have an incubator ready
