which heat tape would be best?

im building a new rack that has 41 qt bins should i be using 3 in flexwatt or 11 in. the tubs are 33 1/2 in long im think 11 in but will this overheat the enclsure? the flexwatt will be hooked up to either my herpstat or my helix

ok, the way its set up its going to be two bins each level side by side so the rack is going to be 3'x3'x4' totaling 12 adult tubs. The flexwatt will heat everything fine covering 1/3 of each bin i assume? just want to be sure, my other rack uses 4" and works though it makes my cool side a little too cool. I just dont want my cool side to now be too hot

Uth do not heat air well if you are currently having issues it is very likely they will persist. The easiest way to solve this is to increase the room temp.

It depends on how warm you keep the room. I do prefer the 11" for 41 qt. tubs, but it isn't going to do anything to heat the air so you may still have the same issue as you're having with the 4" tape. If the rack has solid sides and holds the heat well you may be okay, but there's no way to tell for sure until you try it. If the cool side still ends up being too cold, you'll have to look into some options to heat the room. I use a little DeLonghi heater and I've never had any problems.

C-Serpents uses 4" flexwatt bottom heat on their 41qt adult racks. Holds my temps just fine with 82F ambient temps. Hot= 90F, cold= 83F.

IMHO, 11" would be overkill and heat half the tub not giving much of a gradient from hot to cold side.
