First time breeding ball pythons ever... help please..
So I am still preparing to get my balls breeding. I only have a few big enough to breed this year, and that would be a 1200 gram female that was I going to pair up with my 1000 gram mojave male, and I have a 1500 gram female that I am wanting to pair up with my 900 gram pastel male. I am feeding all my snakes a proper sized rat weekly. How much weight should I put on my females? And more importantly, should I even breed my 1200 gram female just yet? Ive read about people breeding them at that size... But yeah any help would be appreciated!

you should start feeding your females twice a week like 3 months ago. but i think 1200 grams is pushing it but should be do-able. its up to you if you want to take the risk.

I mean I dont want to harm the snake in any way, so if it would be a risk I am definitely going to wait.

It is a risk, as a smaller snake will have a harder time passing eggs and could be more likely to become egg bound. Aside from that, you will likely get a very small clutch and could even cause her to not breed next year.

What everyone else has said is true. But keep in mind that she will still grow if she is a regular eater after you pair. If you wait a few months before you begin pairing I don't doubt she would hit the 1500g mark before she lays (provided she is a good eater).
