Very glad Texas is handling it like this instead of just paving over it.

Ok so let me get this straight...they took the only Meshwaever that they have seen in 30 years and dissected it? Then they haven't found anymore? It sounds like that spider went from endangered to extinct.

I hate spiders but that one is really cool looking! Looks like it's made of glass. I hope it hasn't been pushed to extinction. :(

My thoughts exactly I read that and just laughed at how retarded (no offence meant) that department is. 'oh, no one has seen one of these for 30 years... well mayby I'm not sure let me kill it to make sure that its actually what i think it is.'

Well, logically if there is one than there are probably more. I doubt that same spider has been around since 1980. Since they are so small and live in areas that humans do not frequent, it is not surprising that they haven't found more.

I also believe the extinction of some species is a natural process. Not that they should continue building a giant highway, but just in general.

    Pretty cool though!

I agree with the above statements about it seeming a little stupid to dissect the only known animal, but if that is wat was necessary to 'prove' what it was in order to stop the project and possibly save some not yet found, then I think its a resonable cost. Lets just hope it was not the last and they do find more or it was all for nothing.

Well they shouldnt have to dicect the next one we can now simply take a dna sample and check the next one we find and get an answer, but honestly they really shouldnt have killed it.
