    please help. egg binding
    hi there.

i got female pinstripe (3 years old and 1800 grams before breeding).
she got her ovulation on 26 of july 2012 and her pre lay shed on 12 of agustus 2012
from what i read from many source most of the people who breed BP got egg between 25-30 days maximum.

but my pinstripe is not laid yet, even single egg (for this is already 31 day after pre laid shed) and this start to worry me a lot for maybe be she got egg binding

start from yesterday she appear restless, moving around her cage (used to be coiling inside her hiding box) sometimes laying inverted and her belly and her tail are swollen but i don't see any egg from the tail.

would you guys give me sugestion what to do with my snake?, how to tell that she got egg binding?

    thank you

Please take this with a grain of salt...I'm not a breeder, but I do follow the threads. She may not have laid yet. Some have reported having their girls lay over 30 days post shed. Just hang tight, she's cooking her eggs a little longer before showing them to you.

Deep breaths - I've had girls lay at day 45. She is restless because she is moving them into position to lay.

25-30 is MINIMUM, not maximum. I rarely have a girl that lays before day 32-35, and a few routinely lay in the 40's. I know its hard, but deep breath. No need to worry yet!

What you read online about pre-lay happening 14 days after ovy and egg laying happening 30 days after pre-lay are an average.

Depending on the animal, your temps etc it can vary, I have a female that lay 29 day POS and I had one laying 52 days POS this season while most of the other girls laid 40 days POS.

These things are NOT machines. They can lay whenever they want; I've had some go as early as 18 days POS, and some go 45 days POS.

As well as what everyone else has already stated. From what I understand the dame will know if she can make it or not. If not they tend to absorb the eggs back in.
Experts feel free to correct me if I am wrong. This will be my 1st season breeding.. with any luck that is..

No, once they´ve ovulated they dont reabsorb the eggs, you will get eggs or slugs, but shes laying something. They reabsorb before going into ovulation.
