    first experience with bp
Yes my very first bp died the other day, I have no idea why. I bought him from petsmart when i got him he was about a foot long when he died he was 2 ft long. i fed him once a month like petsmart said. had to feed him live he would not eat frozen. Petsmart also said I could use sand or pine shavings so I did. When he died I did some research, apparently they cant have sand or pine. Was wondering if there was anything else I needed to know before I got another one. And where I might could get one

    Yes, read this: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...s%29-Caresheet

It has lots of good information to get you on the right foot. Also, I would disinfect the current enclosure and clean it thoroughly before getting a new snake.

The care-sheet linked above is very good, I'll also link this thread that will help with proper cage heating:

I am so sorry about your loss. Getting a snake from a pet store can be a very heartbreaking experience. You may want to get your next snake from a reputable breeder next time. There are a lot of good people out there that will sell you a very healthy and well started snake. Sadly, pet stores will give bad advice such as only feeding a baby snake once a month. A baby snake should be fed at least every 5-7 days. The above mentioned care sheet is a very good place to start for information.

Welcome to the forum! Thank you for coming here before you got your next snake. There are a lot of great people here who love to talk about snakes.

    Good luck!

Oh, and you really must post pics of your new ball python when you get him! Not sure if that's in the rules but it really should be ;)
