Light timing ???

Just curious what everyone keeps there light timers on, why, and what yall change it to when breeding Time falls upon us. Does anyone do the 24 hour black out thing on November first ( or your preferred start date)??
Very curious hoping to get some Help here.

Lighting doesn't matter. A lot of breeders keep their adult animals in solid tubs, they get little to no light year round in those. My snakes are in clear tubs, but don't get a lot of light since they are in the basement.

Really? So they can be in the dark 24/7 and still breed just fine?

We have a digital light timer that cycles the light to simulate the natural light period as it changes through out the year.

This is NOT necessary to keep healthy or breeding ball pythons, but is just something we like to do and works for us.

x2. My bps are on the same light cycle as me lol.

I feel it helps. My BP's are in a windowless room. I have the overhead lights on a 12 on/12 off cycle from March 1 to late October. From late October to the end of Feb it's 8 on / 16 off. I coincide the light cycles with the heat drops. Might not work for anybody else, but it works for me.

I had no choice but to breed in a room without any light last year, the snakes had no problems eating well or producing eggs...

The only time the light is on is if I am in the room;)
Then again I didnt drop temps last year either AND I am starting to breed year round:gj:
