Poor snake - Anyone near Charlottesville want a new pet?
  • 09-05-2012, 09:06 AM

It is in good hands at the Central Virginia Reptile Rescue. I'm sure they will find an appropriate home for it. Also, there are going to be some vet bills for this snake since some butt head stabbed it and the rescue could use some donations to help. Here is their website: http://carmendenali79.wix.com/centralvareptilerescue#!

Just received a message from the Central Virginia Reptile Rescue. If they can save this snake, it is going to cost around $1,200. If not, it will still cost around $500. They will know more tomorrow when surgery starts.

For the same reason 4 grown 'good ol' boys' screamed like school girls when I walked past them on the way into the local herp shop last night?

[seriously...one yelled "Here she comes with them snakes again! Do you think they're poison?]

Three Beeps in closed tubs, mind you.

The evil part of me wanted wear the Boa I'd just bought like an accessory when I came back out...but I didn't.

They'd all run to the other side of the street, anyway.

    Wusses.

My mom is that way with rats and mice...real ones, pictures, even cute little toy stuffed ones.

I'm not real crazy about spiders and always go out of my way to never harm them but if I see somebody smooching their tarantula, I don't start screaming and hemorrhaging from the eyes, for cryin' out loud.

My dad has a fear of snakes that borders on insanity.

He 'addresses' that fear by killing every one he finds.

[I'm pretty sure mom isn't joking when she says she thinks gypsies took her real baby from the maternity ward and left me, instead...I'm sure not 'one of them']

I can understand why some people are afraid of snakes. When my mom was little (mind you she was born in1950 lol) she went to school in Oklahoma. In that time period the girls would wear dresses to school daily. Apparently there was a Cottonmouth or Rattlesnake problem in her area. A little boy thought it would be funny to pull a prank on her and drop a common Garter down her dress. She instantly fainted. To this day she despises snakes. But for a group of knuckle dragging Dukes of Hazard wannabe punks, that's just sad.
