Leo stuck eye cap part 2

So I posted a thread a couple weeks ago about one of my leos that I think may have a stuck eye cap...but I'm still worried about it. I did use a Q-tip with sterile saline and very gently tried to remove it, without luck. Now I'm wondering if it's even a stuck eye cap. I managed to get her to open her eye enough for some pictures. Any help would be appreciated.

It does look a little like there is something along the bottom of her eye/eyelid. Poor baby, wish I had a suggestion.

It's actually pretty clouded more around the top part and then that bottom part almost looks swollen, not sure what it could be :(

I was just informed that leos don't have a spectacle like snakes! What the heck could this be then?? :tears:

What type of substrate are you using? What type of bugs is s/he eating?

Paper towels...and she eats meal worms, crickets, and the occasional waxworms and/or dubias...

What size mealies? Sometimes, not very often though, when a Leo bites into a mealworm, the worm will turn around and bite ( or try to anyway ). I'm wondering if maybe this is what happened, and it got her eye.

You can usually see a piece of stuck shed in their eye/lid. I suggest that you keep looking into her eye and lid, to see if you see something, and gently flush with saline. Even try misting her with water, which will cause her to lick all over, including her eye. If it does not get better in a couple of days, or you see any changes, even the slightest, I'd call your vet.

Thank you, I will definitely keep it updated. I'll be bringing her to the vet this week I think, it's been a month since I noticed she was keeping it shut, and 2 weeks since I tried cleaning it out with saline with no improvement.

This looks like the same thing that happened to my leopard gecko.

In my case it wasn't an entire eye-cap but instead very small pieces of it that were left behind (attached to the eyelid) I actually had to use a special type of microscope for viewing 3D objects to be able to even clearly see them. Previous to this my leo had a closed eye for months... after a few days of removing the small pieces her eye opened and have stayed that way.

Just an update, Toe has a vet appointment at 9am tomorrow. I'll be sure to let everyone know what's going on!

Another update. Toe went to the vet today, without more intense and expensive diagnostic testing, she does not believe there is an infection. She believes it is either calcium build up or a cornea disease, both of which are not life threatening. She gave me some eye drops for the swelling to give her. I'll be bringing her back in two weeks for a recheck, hopefully she shows progress. Thank you for all your help.
