    The Gourmet Rodent
Several phone messages left and emails sent to the Gourmet Rodent in Newberry, FL. Finally get a hold of someone only to find out they are NOT TAKING ORDERS from new customers. Nobody bothered calling me back or emailing me back to tell me this

Their website makes no mention of this either.

Thank you for wasting my time Gourmet Rodent.

When you do decide to take on new customers...I will not be one of them.

I've never liked them ever since I started buying their products from Petco. The rats were dirty and smelly and it was just unpleasant.

The quality of their frozen rodents is just horrible. There have been times when I was in a pinch and would go to Petco and purchase a small rat. It was the most disgusting rat I have ever seen or smelled, it looked as if it had been refrozen one to many times also.

The thing that doesn't make sense is they were at the Daytona show just a couple weeks ago...for what if they weren't taking new customers?

Same as above, the rodents smell terrible. Thinking about it now it would be perfect for Scenting a room in feeding days because one small rat smells like a whole rodent room that has not been cleane in months.

Sounds like I'm better off they never bothered to get back with me. Too many other places, in fact, I found a place closer to me that I can actually drive to in 30 or so minutes if I wanted to save on shipping. So it turns out they DID do me a favor.

Artic mice from petsmart are pretty decent, just expensive. I have a few lg mice from petsmart since my pin is almost ready for weaned rats. So instead of buying a bag of mice it's just easier to buy the 4 pack petsmart sells.

I made the mistake of purchasing Gourmet Rodent once. I opened the package and the fuzzy was discolored (patchy yellow), it smelled, and the fuzzy was VERY bloody. Before I started ordering from a large online supplier, I would buy the Arctic Mice from Petsmart. They mice are individually packaged, clean, and not bloody. I'd definitely buy from Petsmart before Petco. The real downside is that both only sell pinkies, fuzzies, large mice, and large rats. They don't sell hoppers, weanling mice, pinkie rats, fizzy rats, rat pups, or rat weanlings.
