Locking racks

Is there any way to lock your racks? I don't mean little stoppers to stop the tubs from pulling out, I mean actually locking, so you have to have a code or key with a padlock to slide them out. Our balls are at my boyfriend's new house and his family are living with him until (or if) the house they are buying closes and they finish all the repair on it. Could be 2 months, could be a year. His little brother does not listen to anyone. About anything. So he keeps going and getting our snakes out without permission. and who knows how much he gets them out when we are not there. It bothers me so much, and he will not stop doing it. I'm also always worried he'll accidently pull the thermostat probes off the heat tape. So before I get arrested for beating a kid's ass, is there a way to lock the tubs? Thanks guys!

Are you snakes in a room? You can always buy a keypad lock for the actual room. Then the only way to get into the room is using the keypad code. My friend has one for the office in her barn. They are not right now. They are in the living room. But as soon as his family moves to their own house, the snakes will have their own room.

An easier way (alighning two holes on either side could be hard) might be just drill one hole at the leading edge on the bottom and just run a padlock through it the tubs will not silide over the padlock and it is just a single hole per level. I have done this only with pins. There is a stupid by law that requires secure housing.

Do you mean drilling a hole in front of every single tub and just putting a padlock with nothing attached to it through the holes? Or am I reading your post wrong?

Basically yes it beats drilling aligned holes through them all and running a rod down thought them and padlocking that. I don't think you would need to drill the tub just the shelf in front of it. There is (normally) not enough clearance for the tub to run over the top of the lock. A flexible bike lock might be an option too.
