    Escape leads to burn...
So I picked up a pair of lessers this weekend, the female somehow managed to get out of the tub, not sure exactly how but I came home, flipped on the light and she was crawling on the outside of another tub. I just noticed that she has a ring around her body that goes almost the whole way around...Right on top is the worst, the skin looks melted and there is a pink hue around her belly..It seems to me that while she was out she got cold and went for the heat cable to another tub which is not part of her rack at all, but its the perfect explaination. anyways, should i be worried? it didn't break the skin but she is damaged a little bit. I put her in a dif tub with a lid on it and paper towel for sub..I will post a pic soon but what's the best thing to do until I can get some anibiotics?

Till you get antibiotics keep her on clean paper towels to avoid infection.

Neosporin is.not good for snakes. It turns the scales.to mush.

    Never use Neo on snakes.

What you want is Betadine. You can get it at any pharmacy. Simply dilute 1 part betadine to 10 parts warm water (water temp in the mid 80's) and then soak your Bp in the solution for 20 minutes 2 times daily.

Silver sulfazdine is great but you need a prescription. Iodine kills new flesh as well as bacteria.

This works very well. Just be more careful next time or it could have been much worse!
