    Kids and a garter snake.
Borrowed this guy from his sunning duties to show my nieces and sons. Saw his head poking out and after a little back and forth he let me pick him up. He was happy to help and was a complete gentleman. Once I had him he stayed calm and never musked us. I put him back where we found him and he went back to what he was doing.

Ha ha get them while they are young! (the kids not the snake) I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of those kiddos isn't a snake lover now. Good job giving the intro to the kids and the snake also looked great!

Thanks guys. I think it's important and use every chance I get to educate kids about snakes. My wife is a teacher and I brought part of my collection in a couple months ago and did a little snake show with the kids. We tied it in right at the end of them learning about reptiles. It was a hit and I think we will be doing it at least once a year from now on.

We do this at my daughters school, and it always goes over great! I like to think we are making 30 kids a year, not have irrational fears of snakes, if not love them!
