    Axanthic Desert Projects
I asked the all knowing google and came up empty handed, the same with WOB. So has anyone out there know of or have done any axanthic desert projects. I love both VPI axanthic and desert and can only imagine that those would be some awesome looking animals.

Someone more experienced can correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think deserts could have viable babies.

    Hi,

Female deserts seem to be unable to lay viable eggs and have a high risk of becoming eggbound and dying as a result - but males breed fine.

It's just that it might be harder to sell the female desert hatchlings for any other purpose than pets.

But if you started with a female axanthic it is perfectly possible to make axanthic deserts using her sons. :)

I don't think it has been done yet. I plan on putting my desert with one of our axanthic females again this year. She didn't take last year. :(

Females can't but there are a ton of morph males out there with desert in them. Desert males are just fine, desert females can't reproduce.
