    Feeding...?
I'm extremely low on funding (like, flat broke) and it's gotten to where I can't get appropriately sized mice on a consistent basis. I have a friend who raises his own and will give them to me fairly cheap (25 cents a mouse!), but I can't get out to his place very often so I usually buy in bulk and freeze it all, only I haven't been able to do so lately. Every pet store I've been to nearby has mice too large for my ball, and it's a bit too expensive for my budget to keep getting them every week- the last place I bought was around $5 for 4 mice. My mother looked up a few things and found something that said we could use a mixture of meats and make our own 'mice' to feed my Ball with. Is this a good idea, and if so, what kinds of meats should I use and how should I prepare them?

Noooo no no no. Absolutely not. Ball pythons (and most snakes in general) should be on a steady rodent diet. Some people will feed chicks or rabbits and such, but a "meat mixture" is not an appropriate diet for a snake. They digest and need more than just the "meat" anyways!

Basically, if you can't afford to properly feed and care for your snake than you should find someone who can.

Snakes digest every part of their meal- stomach contents, bones etc. and that can't be replicated with random meats. So no

Thanks for the info. I'll bite the bullet and go get mice then.

Have you considered buying a small colony of mice or rats and breeding them yourself? I buy a huge 50 lb bag of rat block that lasts FOREVER for dirt cheap....you'd spend a lot less money doing that with a small colony...
