Would you be able to keep a RTB/Carpet/Blood/SD Retic/etc. is these tub dimensions?

I was looking into ARS racks and was thinking, would you be able to keep RTB's, Carpets, Bloods, SD Retics, and other medium (or if you would call them large) snakes in these tub sizes?:

9"H X 52"W X 33.5"D or 9.5"H X 31"W X 39.5"D

Also, do those species have similar cool side temps? I'd like to house some species of snake together in the same room (along with BP's), but, since they're going to be open sided it might be an issue.

I'd say thats a pretty good size for those, but I think Carpets might like a little more height. I don't really know for sure since I don't have a carpet.

Also not sure on the temps of the Carpets or Retics, but I know RTBs will appreciate a slightly warmer hot spot than a blood python would.

Thanks for the reply and I was planing to keep them on different level on the rack so they wouldn't have the same hotspot, I was just worried about the cool spot.

Oh well I keep all my snakes at 77-80* ambient and they are all happy.

The carpets would use the extra hight if supplied. I keep my female JCP in a 36x24x24. Mine loves to climb all over her tree, she will curl up on it during feeding day and likes to strike down on the rat. I believe BHB keeps carpets in tubs likes that. To be honest I woulnt keep a JCP in a tub for the simple fact that when you see a jet black and bright yellow JCP curled on a branch it is an amazing sight. There raw beauty will make you want to have a nice display cage for them. And that goes for all carpets.

I would say the first option would prob work best for an adult. I have a Blood set up in a temperary tub(still waiting on the custom cages to get to me) that is 43x19.5x6.7 and it is working fine. She is alittle over 4 ft and pretty heavy bodied. I have a nice thick layer of mulch on one side and just a newspaper tent on the other and she is fat and happy.

The rule of thumb is have a snake in a cage that is 2/3 of the snakes length in length and 1/3 the snakes length in width(at least).

Are you going to be getting adults? Starting out with those will be way to large for any of the listed snakes as babies.

Also how are you going to have different hotspots in a rack? Are you having them install a seperate flexwatt strip on each level? The way racks are usually built the flexwatt runs through the entire rack and is supplied with the same power so it has the same hotspot on every level. Now the ambient temp will very by level from the lowest to the highest but its usually not much.

So, the second one would be inadequate?

I'm going to be starting with babies, however, I'll have other tubs to put them in until they grow.

Each level of the rack will have their own flexwatt so I'll be able to house different species of snake with different hot spot levels.

My SD retics are in the same rack as ball pythons, and they're fine and happy. They are skinny snakes, so the extra length doesn't factor in as much...except that you need a long hook. (They're not mean...just always, always hungry, and they come lunging out the moment the bin is opened, lol).

As for bloods and carpets, I'm fine with living quarters that are 4 feet long.

However, I like to give height to the carpets, and 9'' of height doesn't seem adequate to me for a particularly large blood python. I've seen some 20-30lbers that were kept in a foot to a foot and a half of height, and that looked comfortable for them.

Even my hatchling carpet pythons get some height, even at 6 months I had my last pair in 2 foot tall exo terra vivs.

I'm in the camp that once a tub's dimensions start to exceed three feet long, cages are just a better option.

When it comes to husbandry, bloods are the "odd man out" for sure. I prefer to provide an ambient of 82-84, no hot spot.

My carpet pythons get a cool spot and a hot spot, which vary depending on the time of year.

However, when it comes to keeping snakes very little is set in stone, and I keep multiple species in the same room. I just have to find ways to provide the environments that I want with the same room temperatures outside their cages/tubs/vivs/whatever. I would not keep them all in the same rack.
