    What makes a specter?
Seriously, how do I tell a specter from a normal? I went through several threads here and looked at the examples on WoBP, but I really don't see it. What are the indicators?

They typically have a lot of striping

Have a head spot very similar to a yellowvbelly

While the belly isn't typical yb it does still have a tint of yellow to it and some speckling like yb's have.

And they have a lot of speckling on the sides and an over all similar color as many yb's also

I suggest buying from a known producer of superstripes :gj:

Wow I think that reply is sticky worthy or needs to put in the morph guide thread. :gj: :gj:

Ditto the Morph guide request. There already is one for specters, but it'd be nice to add this to it (while keeping the pictures that are already in the current morph guide. More pictures = more better.)

Right? Honestly, if I were in the market for one right now, I might just wait and save up for the superstripe, because then I'd definitely know what I had.

I didn't even about the YB head spot or speckling. I could ID a YB if you rolled it over... but I don't have any yellow belly complex anythings in the house. Which is probably why I have a hard time picking specters out visually.

But in all seriousness it can be an issue since not ALL of the markers may be there.

The head can have a stamp:

Often the tail will be striped:

    Belly is variable:

Overall color is lighter than a WT, and easier to see when next to a normal:

There is also something about "keyholes" in the pattern, but I never really understood that one.

As was said before, if it is your first get it from a known SS producer if you can.
