Girlfriend is scared of my baby BP, told me to get one of these instead...
Took my girlfriend to our first reptile show, she has always been scared of my little ball. When we go there and saw this guy she begged to hold it. She seriously told me to have one of these instead of my ball. I told her she would have to wait a few years lol.http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/1...terepticon.jpg

Such a beautiful Burm! Gah, I wish I could keep big snakes, but nah, too sketchy for me!

Lol! Thats awesome! I was thrilled when my wife said shes excited about having retics in the collection when we have the space. She thinks it would be really cool to have a 15+ foot snake! :D

It was literally the tamest snake I had ever seen. Dozens if not hundreds of people holding it all day and it wasn't head shy whatsoever, but I'm the same way, my girlfriend was more excited about holding it than I was which blew my mind. I love snakes, but that was my first opportunity to ever hold a Burm or larger and I still just had that instinctual fear in me for a few seconds before I manned up.

So interesting, my better half has also shown a strong interest in burmese, but a discomfort in things like my balls (super comfortable with the big boa and carpets though). . . in fact it seems like everytime she pulls any snake out I see her walking around with our granite burmese :-)

I think this has to be related to just being scared of small squirmy things in general. My girlfriend and most girls I know would hold a rabbit or a guinea pig, but would be freaked out by a small rat or a mouse. Also my ball python is still a little head shy so it'll jerk back occasionally if you touch too close to his head and the quick movements scare her.

Eh she just enjoys the power of one that's larger. Even the smaller carpets she loves. Just something about my balls . . .
