I know it comes with the territory...
As soon as I cut Clutch #8, I noticed the spider tail in the egg looked a little weird? Few days go by and decide to get a closer look, I made a bigger cut in the egg. The head was twisted 360 degrees, like a corkscrew... It was one of the hardest things for me thus far.. I know it comes with the territory, still difficult none the less. It was a double sire clutch, spider het ghost, firefly x Genetic Stripe. The rest of the clutch is fine and waiting for their first shed.

    Ally.
So sorry to hear that. But at least the rest of the clutch is healthy!

I am sorry to hear about your misfortune. Having things go wrong is the side of breeding no one likes to think about or talk about.

That is one reason why I think it is so important that we breeders post our troubles here, just as a reminder to people getting started that it's not all sunshine and roses.

Bummer. Unfortunately that stuff happens when you breed animals. :(

I had a badly deformed had hatched this year as well and it was hard. He never made it out of the egg and for obvious reasons but it was still hard. I never want any of them to suffer or be in pain and it bothers me when I see one that dies of any abnormality.
Pictures graphic but i know what you went through.
