I really hope that a judge completely slams the responsible party/parties here. What the heck is wrong with people!?

You got the One Lucky Turtle part right, but it should have been One Cruel Human.

When you consider that if the tree hadn't stopped it, it likely would have reached altitudes where the temps would have been brutal if not unsurvivable to a CB animal. If it where fortunate enough to come down on land alive, it would not be able to manuever with all of the entanglement of the balloons and riggings. If it would have come down in the water, then who knows. The video said they saw where it came from so I hope they get the person/s responsible and prosecute to the fullest extent.

Reading things like this makes me wonder why the definition of "Humanity" is considered a positive connotation.

Oh my gosh that poor tortoise! (Sorry random Humane Society person who identified it, that's not a box turtle, most likely a Russian tortoise.) These little guys hate not having their feet on something solid, it completely freaks them out. I can't imagine how scared the poor thing was :( I hope someone takes good care of him/her.

I am now more afraid of 'copy cat' people that see this, and will try a bigger animal...

Seriously, what is wrong with people. If it was kids doing this, I can only wish that their parents taught them better. That poor thing. I hope that it finds a good home with people that will treat it well.

I'd say some people should have to swim with rocks tied to their feet.
