    Condensation dripped on eggs
Hello all, my ball just layed 5 eggs yesterday. As i went to check on them today I noticed that the condensation on the lid of the tub has dripped on 2 eggs. Can the water on the egg be harmful? I am a first time breeder so i never experienced any of this before. Please help and give some advice. Thanks, Dave.

I find those water droplet create windows and discolored spots, and yeah, I assume over time they can lead to mold in some cases. So I wipe them off with a clean tissue when I see them.

I had a bad problem with the tub dripping on my pewter x het pied eggs, I think because the clutch is very tall, with the last egg stack up on top of the other 4. And I didn't separate my eggs before putting them in the incubator, so some of the water was pooling at the cracks where the eggs touch for a long time.

One of the commenters here suggested putting something under one edge of the tub, so that the tub is tilted inside the incubator slightly. That makes the drops run over to the edge of the tub, where they drip down onto the vermiculite instead of the eggs. It's helping a lot to keep the water off the eggs.

thanks, i'll give that a try. If the eggs create mold are they done for or are they going to have a chance?

Eggs are not made of spider webbing, lace and silk. They are FAR more robust and durable than most give them credit for.
Water drops will not harm healthy eggs and the unhealthy ones are going to rot anyways, water or not.
Stop worrying people, these things are tough.
