    The Must Haves and the Outcomes
    I recently got into snakes (makes it easy when you work at an exotic petstore). I started with a few western hognoses and then I got a snow corn. But the one I fell in love with was a beautiful male black eyed luecistic ball python. So I bought him! :D

    My questions are:

    If I were to get into breeding what are the MUST HAVE morphs? (please specify whether you believe it should be male or female or both)

    AND What should I breed to my black eyed lucy boy to get some interesting and beautiful balls? (preferably on the lighter colored side)

    Also, any tips and pointers would totally be warmly welcomed!!!

    Everyone has different tastes. When you start breeding you gotta do it because you love it, otherwise it just becomes another job and that is no fun. When you do it because you love it, it is usually because of different colors and patterns that catch your eye. To that note, the best thing for you to do is to use google... A LOT, and find different morphs that suit your taste, and your budget.

    I love pieds, champagnes, fires, bananas ( wish I could afford them ), and a bunch of other ones, but you may not like them at all. To each their own, you gotta breed what makes you happy and forget about everyone else's tastes, they are all different AND they change a lot.

    Welcome to the site!!

    The world is your oyster! :D

    Define your breeding goals and go from there.

    The options are really endless...
    Money Makers = Banana, Champagne
    BEL Complex = Lesser, Mojave, Butter
    Enhancers = Pastel, Enchi, Fire
    Long Term Projects = OG, Axanthic, Albino, Pied, G-Stripe etc

    Hmm, I love the firefly morph so I would put it with something pastel. Maybe something like a Lemon-Blast or a Spinner Blast if you want to dish out the coin. ;)

    Check this out: http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/

    Make what you like if this is for hobby. There's a good chance other people like it too.

    @Mr. Lang

    That site is insanely useful:P... I really like that Albino Pewter.... but that site is also such a tease.

    Am I missing something? It doesn't seem to say what to breed to get that beauty.:mad:

    You should see on the left side it should have a few Morphs listed ie; albino (recessive), pastel (Co-dom), cinnimon (Co-dom). (or black pastel, depending on which pewter)

    Which means you have a few options
    Albino being recessive means both parents have to carry the gene.
    Pastel het albino x cinni het albino
    Albino x pewter het albino
    Etc
    The genetics wizard on that site is hella fun :D

    Albino pewter is an albino cinnamon/black pastel pastel. Its a triple gene snake with one being a recessive, so it's already a bit harder to hit with working with hets. But it's sure a good thing to aim for!
