New safe live feeder rats?

Interesting article. The first thing I wondered is if these things could be domesticated into breeding groups for snakes. It would certainly be a safer feeder rat:

Of course, it also means having plenty of worms around to feed the rats!

Well they dont have molars to chew but they still have their incisors that they can use to bite but are safer then the rats we use. and have to say they are ugly little things lol.

Wow thats really cool. Id be behind pioneer breeding those for snakes. It may not be danger free, but it would be a little bit better to know that one snake in your collection who wont switch to F/T is that much safer haha. Do you know if theyre getting imported? Or is that not even on the table yet.
Cant say I know much about breeding worms, or even what they eat. But if all it takes is nutrient rich soil one would think that it may be less expensive to feed your rats as well. Heck youd have an entire food chain in your house at that point. Pretty cool.

Worms are pretty easy. We had a worm box that way we always had bait for fishing. We just put dirt in a bin made drain holes and most ended the dirt added worms then put a price of wet card board on top.

That rat would give me nightmares it is soooo ugly... But I think it is a dead one??? I don't know I would probly try this rat...
