Day 57 and little movement:to cut or not to cut
Do they move less closer to pipping? I am concerned on may have died. In the BP community in General do you recommend cutting or waiting to pip?
Re: Day 57 and little movement:to cut or not to cut
Since you are asking, I will share my opinion. I am 7 days behind you. Since this is going to be my first clutch and I have absolutely no experience to fall back on, I am going to allow nature to do what it is supposed to do. If that doesn't turn out to be the results that I hope for, then I will research to see if I can identify the problem, and do my best to prevent it the next time around.
If were to cut, I won't know if it was the incubation process, the parents, or me making a mistake. Why add variables?
Since you have waited 57 days already, a few more won't kill you. Just remember when you are posting pictures of them pipping, I will need you to talk me off the ledge, as I will have 7 more days to go.
Hang in there

I've only had two clutches, but by the end they are taking up so much room in the egg probably that they don't have much room to move around (possibly). My second clutch I was keeping a closer eye on were not moving the slightest and had me worried they were not going to make it or died at the very end of the incubation process. All came out and were fine though. Most people or many wait till at-least one pips and then they cut them all.

It's ridiculous how crazy these babies are making me. It's my first clutch, I have kept them between 88-90 degrees and 80% humidity the whole time. They are still very plump. I don't even have anything to grab so I could make the initial incision. I think I am just gonna let nature take its course and wait the 3 more agonizing days...ugh! Thank you everyone! You were all a great help!
