    Humidity
What are some good ways to increase humidity, right now I'm sitting at exactly 60% I've got damp papertowel as bedding and some sphagnum peat moss on one half where his hide is. Still don't feel it's enough as he did have problems shedding this week and then the prolapsed rectum happened yesterdahits it pushed in by the vet today. Just want to make sure he'll be okay and has the perfect home. This is my first snake btw!!

Are you using a tank or a tub for an enclosure?

Try putting your water dish over the UTH if your using one this should help, i wouldn't use damp paper towels as bedding remove them instead.. get a damp towel and cover half of the mesh screen top.

There are a few things you can try. You can try wrapping half of the screen with plastic wrap or put a damp towel on half of it as well. You will have to continuously make sure the towel is damp though. I did this when I used tanks and it worked out pretty well. You can also make a humid hide with some damp moss in it. Please be sure to leave at least half of the mesh top uncovered for good air flow and I assume you are using a heat lamp also.

What worked for me when I had my tanks was to put the water bowl under the heat lamp. It kept humidty about 65%. But at the end of the day, you can't beat a snake rack for keeping humidty. I got sick of spraying and covering to keep humdity. I boght the zoo med mister and that has to run all day to keep it where it needs to be (which will of course reduce its life span.

    Good luck with the humidity
