Secondary thermostat advice needed

I am planning on using a Herpstat 1 as my primary thermostat. I am considering a Ranco ETC-111000 or VE-100 as my backup. Does anyone have an opinion on which one is the way to go.

I really like the ve-100 just got it a few days ago and love it !

Either one is a good choice for a back up T-stat.
