Keeping to the rule of prey size being 1x to 1 1/2 x as thick as the thickest part of the snake, I was wondering if length of the prey item should also be considered.

Plissken right now is 22 inches long and about 1/1/2 inches in diameter Ive got a small frozen rat thats roughly the same diameter but its 5 inches long! Somehow when I look at it I say "aye yi yi too much for you Plissiken" :D

They can take massive food items at any age... He's too young for rats, wait until he's 28 inches long.

Feed a bit large then their thickest part, they can eat more but that size is about right.

Mice are higher in calcium then rats, so you're gonna wanna stay on mice for some time.

LOL I gotcha, as Wizzil said he probably could get it down, but as Godfather said if there is a choice adult mice are better due to the calcium they provide.

Well Ive got one lil mouse left wich I guess Ill feed tonite its a small meal but better safe than sorry right?!
