My first shed with mah little babeh!!!

So I knew she was gettin ready to shed, but I didn't think it would be this morning! I should have known, last night I was handling her for a little while and she was rubbing her head on my hand/arm as hard as she could (it was adorable), gettin ready for the shed. Sure enough this morning before work I check in her tank and there's snake sheddings everywhere, including both of the hides. I know that they're supposed to shed in one piece, but she definitely didn't shed in one piece. They were pretty decent sized chunks of skin, but definitely not one piece. I'd say at least 5+ different pieces, and I didn't get to inspect her to see if she was done. The humidity has been great and the temps have been appropriate..

Do you think I did anything wrong to provoke a non-one-piece-shed or does this happen sometimes or what?

You probably just needed a little more humidity. I would advise you not to handle them any more than possible when they are in shed because it is a very stressful time for them.

I do not handle my snakes at all when they are in shed. They tend to get a little defensive and cranky. It is indeed a very stressful time for them.

Ahhh, I wondered if that was a possibility. She wasn't defensive or stressed at all last night, of course when ya pull em out they're a little skeptical at first but she was very curious and active and seemed to enjoy the time out - of course she doesn't speak english so there's no guarantee. So far this girl has been extremely friendly and doesn't seem to stress easily, I wasn't going to handle her last night but her eyes didn't seem milky anymore and I wanted to check on her. The humidity has ranged from 60 - 80%, so I'm not positive that's the problem but that could be it. Can't wait to get a PVC! Thanks guys.

X3, once I see mine in blue, I don't bother them until they shed. And they usually stay hidden until they are done. So I would just recommend no handling. If your humidity was between 60-80, that should have been fine.
