I haven't used them yet but just ordered a dozen of the Edstrom valves that aren't adjustable, the standard ones. I didn't have very good luck with the RBI valves, personally. Of the 12 I ordered, I had leaks from 10 of them within three weeks of hooking them up. Apparently there were issues with the spring tensions on some of them when Rich first started producing them and I don't know if I just got a bad batch or what but after that, I went with the Edstrom valves as I have yet to have any issues with them on the first racks I'd built. I use the 3/16" barbed ends and 1/4" hardware cloth for the tops of my cages in the racks. The barbed end fits perfectly through the 1/4" mesh and then it's just a matter of hooking the water line up to the barbed end while the screen holds tension on the actual valve to keep the rats from pulling it through. Makes it a snap to disconnect prior to taking a tub out since I didn't build mine with the drop feature to let the tub come out with the water valve still in.
