Yikes!...did I overfeed

I finally got a scale the other day and weighed my BP at 227g empty. The pet store I go to didn't have large enough rap pups so i got 2 smaller ones. I weighed them at 75 or so grams total. For some reason I was thinking a post I read said 30% of their body weight so I fed Clyde. He pounded them both down no problem. I was on here browsing as I do daily...lol...and caught that it's 10-15%. How bad did I screw up? He looks pretty plump in his midsection but not too bad.

No idea, i dont weigh my rats. I go with a rat thats roughly the same size as their fattest part. :gj:

Not much you can do now, except watch him and make sure he doesn't regurg them. Other than that, just wait a longer period of time before you feed him again, since he'll be fuller longer this time. I'd say once he looks normal again, then wait an extra week. If he does throw them up, wait at least 2 weeks before feeding him again.

I dont know where it is now but i have a picture of a rat snake eating a bird probably 100-150pct of its weight. Snakes can eat an amazing amount of food in a feeding. It is not recommended to feed large meals but they can handle it. Like the other posters have commented, keep a keen eye on your snake, and avoid feeding for a few weeks.

I like to weigh and write down every meal, so I can track their weight. just lower the next meal down, and don't worry if it decides to skip a week.

Thanks for all the replies! It's been a couple hours now and he seems fine. I would have gone with feeding a rat about as big around as his largest girth but they didn't have any. That's why I went with 2 that were a little smaller.

I would not avoid feeding for a few weeks. Offer him a meal the size you normally would next week. If he refuses dont worry about it, but if he takes it thats fine too. Its ok for them to have a bit bigger meal one week. Im sure sometime in the future the petstore may be outta the normal sized meals so you have to give him a bit smaller meal that week. Itll be fine either way, i just wouldnt make a habit out of either.
